The Iliad Book VIII. After a day’s respite, the battle resumes. The Trojans have the upper hand since Jove sends lightning n thunder upon the Achaeans. Juno & Minerva want to help but Jove stops them.
In Book 8 of the Iliad, the Achaeans (Greeks) fight well but are still losing since Jove (Zeus) sends lightning on them. The Greeks have taken their best men from all the kingdoms and have come to the war. Their loss destroys not only them but also families back home and they are on the brink of being destroyed not for the lack of trying.
