This is based on a discussion that I had with RV sometime back. I was of the opinion that ‘life’ will make its way forward one way or the other outside earth into different planets. His take was that there may be some bounds beyond which things cannot go. There are limits like the speed of light, the gravitational constant, Planck’s constant, etc. Maybe there is a ceiling. If there was none, theoretically, we might have seen many more universes.

Is the universe bounded or unbounded? The past few decades have seen unprecedented progress. Life took millions of years to reach this point; Homo Sapiens took around 350k years; Tech has taken a few decades to reach a stage to have conversations with humans. It is remarkable.
